The choice of your computer depends on the use you will make of it and your budget.

The laptop is compact and mobile. It packs away very quickly.
The desktop computer and its screen will spend their lives near the office of the same name.

Scalability is another factor to take into account. For desktop computers, it is very easy to change or add one or more components: either because one of them no longer does the job or because you want to improve the performance of your computer.
Conversely, a laptop is less scalable. With the exception of memory and hard disk, its hardware configuration remains fixed.

Laptops: advantages and disadvantages

for the size:
Very discreet, accompanied by a pleasant design and are equipped with screens from 10 to 17 inches. They'll easily replace a desktop PC if you don't want the clutter of a tower and screen.
for mobility:
In the garden, in bed, in front of the TV ... With WIFI your cellphone will follow you wherever you want to surf.

- for the price :
Plan for a higher budget than with desktop PCs for equal performance. Entry-level laptops, which are very inexpensive, are no substitute for a classic PC for demanding applications, games and multimedia.

- for the lifetime:
You will keep your device for less time given the limited possibilities of upgrading and repairing the laptop. Most of the time, interventions on the equipment require an after-sales service.

Desktop PC: advantages and disadvantages

for the price / power ratio:
At the same price, a desktop PC will be more powerful, the components are less miniaturized, easy to assemble, disassemble and simpler to ventilate and cool.

for scalability:
We will keep our desktop PC for longer, it is quite simple to update the hardware (burner, RAM, graphics card ...) and to upgrade our computer according to new games and software.

for troubleshooting:
the components are easily accessible, and a hard drive failure or a failure of an element will not necessarily require a return to after-sales service as long as one is a minimum handyman.

- for the size:
It is of course the size that is wrong with our office PCs despite the arrival of LCD flat screens. It is necessary to reserve a place that will accommodate the central unit, a screen, speakers and of course the keyboard and mouse.
